Samsung's position in the laptop market becomessturdier, the previous Galaxy Book Flex already featured a superior design and display. But, the Korean company continues to develop this direction. Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 boasts a high-quality AMOLED screen, a thin and light body, and long battery life.
There are two options for the Galaxy Book Pro:regular and 2-in-1, when the screen diagonal can be 13 or 15 inches. A 15-inch version of a 2-in-1 laptop came to my tests, which has a number of distinctive advantages.

Design and construction
As soon as you pick up the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 in your hands, you will immediately be surprised how light this laptop is.
The 15 '' 2-in-1 version weighs only 1.39 kg atthe case is 1.19 cm thick. It is lighter and thinner than the Surface Laptop 4, Dell XPS 15 and HP Specter x360 15. The Galaxy Book Pro's design is simple and a bit like a MacBook. Now only HP produces notebooks with striking designs, so you can hardly blame Samsung for what Microsoft and Dell are sinning.
The 2-in-1 test model has two colors:bronze and blue when the regular version is offered in blue, silver and gold. If you want to work with a laptop like a tablet, I advise you to choose the first option. The hinge is quite strong here, and the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is stable and reliable both in tent mode and in normal mode.
One of the main advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is its AMOLED display with superior contrast and accurate colors.
We get a 15.6-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with Full HD resolution. Blacks are deeper when contrast and accuracy are higher compared to the Book Flex QLED panel.
Samsung offers several color options to choose from.profiles: Vivid, Natural, Photo Processing and Cinema. There is also an Auto mode, when the laptop decides which profile to install, depending on the task at hand. However, this feature is not very useful, and if necessary, I advise you to choose a color profile yourself.
The aspect ratio is 16:9, so there is not enough vertical space - many are already used to 3: 2 or 16:10. Therefore, here you will have to scroll the pages a little more often than usual, although this is a small drawback.
Connectors and ports
Although the case is thin, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro has quite a few ports.
There are three USB-C ports, one of which supports Thunderbolt 4, a headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. A full-size USB-A is missing, but you can do without it.
Previous Samsung models had the power keyon the side, in the Galaxy Book Pro 360, the manufacturer has finally moved it to the upper-right corner of the keyboard. Now you will not accidentally put your laptop into sleep mode when you want to connect a peripheral device. The power key also has a built-in fingerprint reader with Windows Hello support.
Keyboard and touchpad
Thanks to the 15-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360, there is plenty of room for the keyboard and touchpad.
The key travel is not too large, although for such athin laptop - normal. If you often work with numbers, then appreciate the separate numeric keypad, whose keys, when Num Lock is off, act as Home, End, Page Down and Page Up buttons. There is no need to keep pressing Fn.
Below the Galaxy Book Pro keyboard is locateda huge touchpad - it is almost the size of an adult's palm, large and comfortable. With one swipe of your finger on the touchpad, you can scroll through an entire browser page.
The main disadvantage of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is its 720p camera.
The quality of the shooting is terrible, the thing, apparently, is in the strangefilters that Samsung has added here. The situation is similar to the old Galaxy flagships - when shooting with the front camera, the smartphone made too many changes to your appearance.
When using a webcam, at the bottomsettings appear on the screen, you can choose from several profiles: Natural, Clean and Appearance. The latter enlarges the eyes, and one can only imagine how frightening the results sometimes look. You can remove birthmarks, add makeup and activate settings like "nice smile" or "attractive nose".
With one click, all filters are turned off, but for some reason the image remains blurry, the resolution is low, and the colors are dark, in any light.
While Samsung laptops are well-designed, they lack some flavor.
One solution, in an attempt to change this, wasadding the S Pen to the Galaxy Book Pro 360. It's a shame that the stylus doesn't have a separate slot on the case like the Book Flex, although it does magnetically attach to the laptop.
Like many competitors, Samsung has added a number offunctions to protect privacy. There is a folder with a password for personal files and the ability to mute the microphone, webcam, with one click. Secret Screen reduces the brightness of the screen, making it difficult for people nearby to see the content. But, it will also become more difficult for you to use the laptop, and the brightness can be reduced manually.
It is better to keep the microphone and webcam disabled.and activate only when necessary. There is also a setting in which the Galaxy Book Pro will take a picture from the webcam every time someone incorrectly entered the password. The photo will be sent to you by email, but this process takes a very long time. In general, the function is useful, but it still needs more work.
The Galaxy Book Pro 360 comes with a suite of Samsung software that is useful or not, depending on whether you are using other Samsung devices.
Unfortunately I am not, but perhaps you canappreciate all the additional features the Korean company has built into its Galaxy devices. The laptop comes with a set of options to connect to other Galaxy equipment (presumably any device running Android 7.0+ or newer) to exchange information, displays, or phone calls between devices.
For example, by pairing it with a Galaxy smartphone, yoube able to view your phone's notifications and receive calls right on your laptop. The pre-installed Samsung SmartThings app allows you to control SmartThings-compatible smart home devices like lighting lamps, home appliances and thermostats.
If you don't have another Samsung device and youjust want to use your Galaxy Book Pro 360 as a Windows laptop, you might think there are a lot of Samsung apps here. For example, Samsung has built in many options for customizing the Galaxy Book Pro 360's battery and display.
The hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is fine. The reviewed model was equipped with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM.
There are no lags when working. You can complete multiple tasks at the same time and play many games without any problem. In benchmarks, this Samsung laptop outperforms the ThinkPad X1 Nano, AMD Surface Laptop 4, and a number of other competitors.
No Galaxy Discrete GPUBook Pro 360 is difficult to run the most demanding games, but you can play them. I ran the less demanding Fortnite, at 15-30 fps at high settings, or 30-60 fps if I kept the graphics to a minimum.
Less demanding games like Civilization 6The Crusader Kings 3 and Into the Breach also perform well on this laptop. Civilization 6 1080p Graphics Performance Test: Gathering Storm achieved 26.9 fps, which is better than the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano (23.3 fps), but not as good as the MacBook Pro with M1 (38 fps).
Audio and sound
The music, dialogue, and sound effects from the AKG stereo speakers inside the Galaxy Book Pro 360 sound good.
The high and middle frequencies are superbly expressed:the vocals are crisp and warm, and the guitar part was clear and bright to fill my entire apartment. The bass is a little worse: I liked the sound of the drums coming out of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 speakers, but I didn't feel it as I hoped.
The speakers themselves sound best when the laptop islying on a table or on your lap as sound waves bounce off the surface and break through the keyboard. They're still pretty good when you flip the laptop over and leave it open like a tent, or fold it completely into tablet mode. However, there is less bass and everything sounds more muted.
Autonomy Samsung Galaxy Book Pro
Depending on the intensity of the task, a single charge of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 will provide 10-15 hours of battery life.
The result is excellent - better than the Dell XPS 15 and manyultraportable ultrabooks like the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano. According to Samsung, just half an hour of charging will give 8 hours of use, although in reality this is not the case. In 45 minutes, about 40% of the energy is restored, but after one and a half to two hours you will again see the message that the charge is low. However, recharging is pretty fast.
The key advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 are its excellent display, light and thin body, and long battery life.
Galaxy Book Pro 360 has become the nextproof that Samsung can make good laptops. The keyboard is large and easy to type, and even the S Pen is included. The privacy features are also helpful, although the webcam is terrible. It's not just about quality, but also aggressive filters.
Should I buy?
Samsung's Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a good 15-inch laptop for those who don't need a webcam, although it's hard to do without it these days.
