Giants such as Samsung with Exynos 990, Huawei and MediaTek with Dimensity 1000 5G processor are also taking part in the competition on the processor market. However, Qualcomm’s only Snapdragon line can compete with Apple's chip performance.
At the beginning of December 2019, Qualcomm introducedthe new Snapdragon 865 chip, which enthusiasts could test on the Qualcomm Reference Device (QRD) - a prototype for testing, not intended for sale.
The AnTuTu 8 test, the reference test smartphone QRD, passed with an indicator of more than 540,000 points, while the flagships of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max running on the A13 Bionic showed 506 176 points.
When passing the Speed Test GX 2.0, the Qualcomm Reference Device on the Snapdragon 865 also beat all competitors by completing it in 36.6 seconds, while the Apple device took 40 seconds and the previous Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (Galaxy Note 10 Plus) did the test for 45 , 3 seconds.
Geekbench testing for a single core showedthe advantage of the Apple A13, which scored 1330 points for the iPhone 11, while the QRD on the Snapdragon 865 received only 935 points. In the multi-core Geekbench test, both platforms run at approximately the same level: Qualcomm - 3450, and Apple - 3480 points.
At the beginning of next year, the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 smartphones will enter the market, which will provide an opportunity to conduct comparative testing on real models.
