Qualcomm is preparing a 64-bit chipset for wearable devices

Qualcomm Chipmaker is working on a new platform.for wearable devices, which will come to Wear 3100. The name is not yet known exactly - whether Wear 429, or Wear 2700, but this is not the main thing, but how significant a step forward is in comparison with the 32-bit Cortex-A7 processor will be a novelty.

According to the information available, the new chipset will beproduced on a 12-nanometer process technology, it will include newer and more powerful 64-bit cores Cortex-A53. This will simultaneously reduce the size and power consumption of the chip, simultaneously increasing productivity.

The chip will be equipped with built-in memory - 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8 GB eMMC.

If the information on the name of Wear 429 is correct,It is logical to assume that the Snapdragon 429 processor became the basis for the chipset, and this, in turn, suggests that the processor core clock frequency of 2 GHz can also be inherited. This greatly exceeds the current capabilities of Wear 3100, whose ceiling is 1.2 GHz.
