The new flagship Snapdragon 888 will be produced5 nm process technology, like its main competitors Apple A14 and Kirin 9000 (Huawei). For the first time in the development of a central 64-bit Qualcomm Kryo 680 processor, the ARM Cortex-X1 microarchitecture was used, using a powerful Cortex-X1 core with a frequency of up to 2.84 GHz, three productive Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.4 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. As a result, the developers achieved a 25% increase in performance compared to the previous Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. At the same time, the increase in energy efficiency was 20%.
The Adreno 660 graphics accelerator provides support for Vulkan 1.1 API, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, as well as 35% higher performance than the previous generation.
Built-in 5G Snapdragon X60 Modem (3rdgeneration) provides operation in all major bands of fifth generation networks, including mmWave and sub-6. The download speed is 7.5Gbps and the transfer speed is 3Gbps.
A coprocessor is used to process photosSpectra 580, consisting of three ISPs (Image Signal Processor).
