Expanding the range of smartphones, the companyHuawei launches its second foldable display device. The smartphone under the brand name Mate X2 will replace the first model Mate X, presented by Huawei back in October 2019. The novelty has received a number of fundamental changes compared to the company's first flexible model.

First of all, the folding principle was changedscreen, design and dimensions of the smartphone. In the Huawei Mate X2, the size of the main screen (2480x2200), folding inward (like in the rival Samsung Galaxy Fold) is now a full 8 inches (the Mate X is 6.6 inches). The outdoor screen (2700 × 1160), working when the main display is folded, is 6.45 inches. For screens, OLED matrices are used that support a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The hardware of the smartphone runs on a proprietaryKirin 9000 processor. The smartphone is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and, depending on the modification, built-in flash memory with a capacity of 256 or 512 GB. Autonomous operation is provided by a 4400 mAh battery with support for 55 W fast charging.

The back panel of the smartphone is equipped with a main unitCameras with four sensors: main wide-angle sensor 50 MP, ultra-wide-angle 16 MP sensor, telephoto module 12 MP with 3x optical zoom. The fourth sensor is equipped with an 8 megapixel sensor with SuperZoom module providing 10x optical zoom. The front camera is also located on the outside of the smartphone in the oval cutout of the upper left side of the additional screen. Taking selfies with the main screen open, apparently, will fail.

Huawei's opposition to the Americanthe government led to a lack of support for Google services and applications, but a smartphone running Android 10 with a proprietary shell EMUI 11.0 is running. In the near future (tentatively in April), the proprietary HarmonyOS operating system will be updated for the folding smartphone.

Chinese fans of Huawei will be able to purchase the Mate X2 smartphone on February 25 for $ 2,785 for the base version with 256 GB of storage and for $ 2,940 for the model with 512 GB of storage.
