Panasonic company held a presentationfull-frame digital mirrorless cameras Lumix S1R and Lumix S1, informing the full list of specifications and features of new products. For the first time about the release of cameras manufacturer told at the exhibition Photokina 2018, but without disclosing the exact characteristics and cost of devices.
& times
The ruler is currently divided into twomodels, Lumix S1 and Lumix S1R: the first has a sensor containing 24.2 megapixels, and the second - 47.3 megapixels. S1 is a model that is more focused on the video segment on the market, while people who mostly work with stills are likely to find S1R more attractive, although both are capable of recording 4K video at 50/60 fps and Full HD-resolution. Recording is also possible at 180 frames per second.
Other differences between cameras arethat S1R with its higher pixel density can reach ISO 25 600, and S1 up to ISO 51 200. However, S1R is able to create images with much higher resolution. Both models are equipped with a “high resolution mode” for photographs, which combines information from eight exposures using an image stabilization system that performs microscopic bias adjustments. This allows S1 to take pictures in a RAW format with a resolution of 96 megapixels (12,000 x 8,000 pixels), while S1R can take photographs with a totally stunning 187 megapixel (16,736 x 11 168 pixels). High-resolution mode also has the option to suppress blurring the image if this is a problem.
Both cameras can record video either on SD cards or on Sony-designed XQD cards through two card slots. Compatibility with CFexpress will appear later.
Panasonic has taken note of somelimitations of recording time depending on the mode used due to temperature control of the sensor. It says that 4K / 30p and Full HD can be recorded without time limit. In fact, with 4K / 60p recording, you are limited to 29 minutes and 59 seconds, while high-speed modes (for example, 180 frames per second) are limited to 15 minutes of continuous recording.
For both S1 and S1R, sound can be recordedvia a 3.5mm linear wall socket, although you can connect a DMW-XLR1 microphone adapter to the camera to provide balanced XLR audio input.
Both cameras are equipped with electronicOLED-viewfinder with a resolution of 5.76 million dots, refresh rates up to 120 frames per second, a delay of 0.005 seconds and a contrast ratio of 10,000: 1. The back of the camera is equipped with a 3.2-inch touch screen with a resolution of 2.1 million points. It can be flipped for viewing at a low or high angle. There is also a large display with a top panel that displays all the current important settings. Also available: a built-in 5-axis image stabilization system Dual IS, USB-C 3.1 port, HDMI interface, microphone and headphone connectors.
