Design, dimensions, controls

Just like in S22, they abandoned rounded shapes,the device is angular and resembles the iPhone 13 Pro. It crashes into the hand, massive, ergonomics definitely suffer from this, and it is inconvenient to use it without a case.

The choice of cover is up to you, they exista huge number for every taste and color. But here it is important to understand that the device can be used without a case, as the body materials allow it, the cameras do not protrude.

But without a case, the ergonomics of the case, frankly, is lame. Not as inconvenient as the iPhone, but compared to all previous Samsung flagships, this is a definite step back.

The dimensions of the smartphone are 157.4 × 75.8 × 7.64 mm, weight - 195 grams. Massive, heavy and perceived that way, weighty, despite the fact that the weight remains up to 200 grams. The frame is made of reinforced aluminum and the body is covered with glass. Glass satin finish, no handprints. There are several color schemes, each has its own advantages.

Also on the Samsung website you can order additional colors, there are only four of them.

There are no complaints about the quality of the case, the materials. The strength of these models is very high, it is difficult to break them, but it all depends on your personal luck or lack of it.

The influx of the camera on the back is not veryprotrudes, does not interfere, even if you do not use the cover. On the right side is a paired volume rocker, on/off button. The slot for two nanoSIM cards is placed on the bottom end, there is also a USB Type C connector, as well as a speaker. The second speaker is above the screen, the stereo pair works fine, the volume is above average. The downside is that the speakers are multidirectional, the sound “walks” a little. But in a device of this size, this is normal.

Protection against water, of course, is present (IP68), which makes the use of the device even on the water safe (the sea and the list goes on).

The screen does not have any curves, which will pleasethose who for some reason cannot get used to curved displays. The fingerprint sensor built into the screen works with a bang, responsive, and recognizes touches well. There are no complaints about it, although it all depends on whether you use film or not. There is no factory film in S22+, so it is up to you to install it or not. My device was not used very carefully, but for a little over a month no scratches appeared on the screen.

In the bottom line, excellent assembly, goodbody materials, modern look, somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 13 Pro. It looks nice, but copying the appearance of a competitor is a controversial decision. In life, the device is very pleasant in perception, although ergonomics definitely suffer due to sharp corners.

Display

By any standards, an excellent screen, it is well readable in any conditions, including in the sun.

The 120Hz mode is great, I always have itenabled - the animation is smooth, both in the interface and in most third-party applications. The screen settings are typical for Samsung's flagship, and there is plenty for those who want to customize the device for themselves and their preferences.

The AoD mode is also nice, you see notifications on the lock screen, you can quickly jump to them.

Traditionally, there is a blue filter, darktheme, including the ability to set a scheduled job. Adaptive screen brightness adjusts to your preferences. In manual mode, you can set the brightness up to 550 nits, in automatic mode it reaches 1750 nits.

Battery

The built-in Li-Ion battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh,it supports USB Power Delivery 3.0. This allows you to get rid of a simple problem - a long smartphone charge. A 45W charger is supported, but buying one for this model looks unnecessary. Look at the charging time.

As you can see, the choice of powerful charging is meaningless,it’s easier to stop at the usual 25 watts. In the settings, you can turn off fast charging if it seems to you that it wears out the battery (in practice, this is not the case).

Wireless charging supports power up to 15W, which allows you to charge your smartphone in 100 minutes. It's fast and comfortable.

Reverse reverse charging allows you to recharge accessories or another smartphone, the power is up to 9 watts.

Now let's talk about the time of work onpractice. The device worked for me a full day, subject to a couple of hours of calls, communication in instant messengers - 2.5-3.5 hours of screen operation. Also, about 1.5 hours of listening to music on headphones, plus a smartwatch is always connected. A working day is easily achievable in this scenario. The operating time is noticeably longer than in the usual S22, and this distinguishes the device favorably (the difference in battery capacity is 800 mAh).

For those who use a smartphone to the fullestcoil, one day of full-fledged work is quite achievable (5 hours of screen operation without any restrictions). On the other hand, if you set up a smartphone, you will get up to two days of work with 6-7 hours of screen, which is quite good.

Communication options

There is support for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), as well as the maximum aggregation of LTE frequencies. Wi-Fi 6E is also present, but for Russian users this standard is not very interesting at the moment (it is turned off by default for Russia).

Support for payment systems Samsung Pay, GooglePay, work does not raise questions (in Russia today it does, but that's another story). Of course, there is full-fledged NFC for everything you can imagine.

Bluetooth version 5.2, there is support for sending an audio stream to multiple devices. There is a proprietary QuickShare feature that allows you to quickly send large files to other Samsung devices (a sort of combed Wi-Fi Direct).
