Oppo has confirmed that its Shanghai-based subsidiary Zeku will be closed due to "uncertainties in the global
economy and the smartphone industry”, reportsGSMArena portal. The chip design company was responsible for developing the MariSilicon chip series, which included the MariSilicon X ISP and the MariSilicon Y audio chip. Oppo established its chip business back in 2019 and developed its own coprocessors, modems, power management devices, and audio chips. Oppo is rumored to have invested more than US$1.4 billion in its chipset development business.
