NVIDIA can now turn photos into 3D models

NVIDIA, known among users as a manufacturer of video cards, has rolled out a new NeRF AI technology that can turn ordinary photos into a full-fledged three-dimensional object.

In fact, the new development is another variation of neural networks and the work of artificial intelligence.

NeRF uses algorithms that can rebuild a 2D object into 3D. And the whole process takes only a few seconds.

As with various Deepfake technologies, the object to be transformed must be photographed from multiple angles, such as back, front, right, and left. After uploading the images, NeRF AI will generate a 3D composition, "finishing" the missing details.

According to NVIDIA itself, the technologyuseful in gaming areas, to simplify the creation of rooms or game characters. And the same open worlds in which players can spend hundreds of hours will also become more elaborate and detailed.

In fact, it will be possible to reduce the production time for creating objects of the game world and spend it on other tasks. For example, catching bugs.

However, there are other options. For example, the use of NeRF in autonomous driving systems for better recognition of real world objects.

It is also planned that the development can be actively used by architects and designers to create a real environment that can be changed in the planning process.
