MSI prematurely showed how to install the new AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor

A few days ago, MSI posted a videowith a guide to installing the new AMD Ryzen 7000 processor. The video has been removed for now, but there are screenshots that show the basic procedure.

The video is a reference guidefor PC builders. It shows how to install an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor with Zen 4 architecture, 16 cores and 32 threads on an LGA 1718 socket motherboard. The model of the board is not specified, but it appears to be based on the B650 chipset.

To install, remove the latch, open the coversocket, install the processor, and snap the cover back into place. That is, the procedure is not much different from the already existing AMD and Intel processors. At the same time, the source notes that the new processors are installed by analogy with the current LGA chips, that is, in the version with contact pads, and not pin contacts. However, this is no longer news, even the official name of the LGA 1718 socket indicates this.

The photo shows a non-standard processor cover,Apparently, it will be the same in the release version. There are no other details yet, but on the lid you can see the date - 2021. That is, this is an engineering version of the processor, and quite early. It has the identifier "100-000000665", which has previously appeared in leaks.
