Introduced 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor

The world's first processor based onTSMC N4 (4nm process technology) was introduced by MediaTek under the Dimensity 9000 brand, instead of the previously expected Dimensity 2000 marking. MediaTek's newest flagship chip should compete with the upcoming top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, which Qualcomm will present in the coming weeks.

Introduced MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipuses the new ARM v9 architecture with high performance. The eight-core processor gets one super-powerful Cortex-X2 core that can be overclocked to 3.05 GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A710 cores at 2.85 GHz, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8 GHz. Support for LPDDR5x memory has been implemented. The graphics are processed by a 10-core Mali-G710 processor. New SDK with support for ray tracing using Vulkan for Android. Realized support for display with FullHD + resolution with a refresh rate of 180 Hz.

New Artificial Intelligence Processing Unit(APU) in Dimensity 9000 is designed for maximum performance in multimedia artificial intelligence, games, cameras and social media. Up to 4 times more energy efficient than the previous generation.

The Dimensity 9000 processor is equipped with a 5G modem withaggregation 3CC Carrier Aggregation (300 MHz) with a data transfer rate of 7 Gbps. Wireless connectivity is also supported by Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E 2 × 2 (performance up to 2x faster than the previous generation). The flagship 18-bit HDR-ISP processor will allow you to shoot HDR video from three cameras simultaneously. It also supports the ability to take photos with a camera with a resolution of 320 megapixels.

MediaTek has announced the launch of Dimensity 9000 processors in mass production. Already in the first quarter of 2022, the first smartphones equipped with new processors will appear on the market.
