Intel Core i9-12900K processor "overclocked" to a record frequency of 8 GHz (3 photos)


At the end of October, Intel heldpresentation of the new 12th generation of desktop processors. Within a few weeks, information began to arrive about the first records set on processors, the official retail sale of which started only on November 4.

On the official AORUS Twitter accountA report was published on the record set by overlocker Ke Chi Hua from Taiwan (nickname Hicookie). The expert was able to "overclock" the flagship model of the Core i9-12900K processor to a frequency previously unattainable for processors.


According to testing conducted withwith a Core i9-12900K processor based on the AORUS Z690 Tachyon motherboard, the overlocker managed to reach a frequency of 8 GHz. The previous Core i9-10900K and Core i9-11900K models were able to show much more modest results: 7.707 GHz and 7.334 GHz.


In addition to the processor, Ke Chi Hua also "overclocked" the DDR5 memory from Gigabyte, increasing the effective frequency to 8300 MHz, setting the timings to 52-52-52-100-127-2.
