In the United States created a hybrid of man and mouse

Modern biotechnology comes to qualitynew level of development. Another achievement is described in the journal Science Advances and reports on the creation of the most advanced hybrid of man and mouse to date. Researchers have used human stem cells integrated into growing mouse embryos. The experiment is extremely important for the future of science and at the same time, the newly created monster did not result in it - ordinary mice grow in the laboratory.

According to researchers, none of the hybridshuman and mouse was not grown to adulthood - the experiment is limited to the study of embryos, which are then destroyed on the 17th day from the moment of birth. According to scientists, older embryos will not bring any new data, and a grown mouse will not differ from the usual one. The reason is too small, but a record for today, content in the embryo of human cells. Human cells account for 0.1 to 4 percent of the total number of cells in embryos.

The main result of the experiment is itselfmethodology for integrating human and mouse cells. Scientists were able to create conditions under which human stem cells grew at the same rate as the cells of a mouse embryo, which in turn ensured the creation of a viable organism. Human cells were distributed throughout the mouse and partially settled in the liver and heart, but most were transformed into red blood cells.

The introduction of individual human cells in the bodymouse is not the ultimate goal of scientists. The main task is to use stem cells to “grow” viable organs, elements of the circulatory and respiratory systems. The use of mouse embryos for testing with stem cell integration is optimal both scientifically and economically.
