In the first quarter of this year, global shipments of foldable smartphones grew by 571%

According to the consulting agency DSCC, in the first quarter of this year, global shipments of folding

smartphones grew by 571% and reached the level of 2.22 million units. However, this is 47% below the record for the smartphone segment in the 4th quarter of 2021. Only two manufacturing companies, Samsung and Huawei, are noticeable in the foldable smartphone market. Samsung accounts for 74% of the total sales of flexible smartphones, while Huawei accounts for 20%. All other brands account for no more than 2% of total sales. It is noted that in the first quarter of this year, Samsung's share of the flexible smartphone market has declined, while Huawei's share has increased sharply. Among the models presented on the market, the absolute leader is Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 with a share of 51%, in second place is Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, and is almost equal to it in terms of volume Huawei P50 Pocket. These three models accounted for more than 90% of all flexible smartphone sales.
