Virtual reality helmets that allowpeople feel themselves inside the computer-created world, became widely available for purchase only a few years ago. However, today they are used not only in the field of computer games, but also in medicine, as a method of treating all kinds of mental disorders and relieving fears. Recently, Russian farmers and employees of one of the technology companies decided to find out whether it is possible using virtual reality to affect the emotional state of cows. To do this, they conducted an experiment in which special helmets were put on the heads of animals, as if transferring cows from a gray autumn farm to a bright summer field.
Farmers from all over the world truly believethat environmental conditions and the emotional state of cows directly affect the quantity and quality of the milk they produce. For example, some American farm owners buy special machines with brushes that massage cows and soothe them. In Europe, farmers provide agricultural livestock with maximum places for walking. In Russia, earlier experiments were conducted in which they tried to influence the emotional state of cows with the help of classical music. Now, apparently, the time has come for virtual reality.
By the way, virtual reality is also able to calm a person during a surgical operation.
How to improve the quality of cow's milk?
The Ministry told about a new experimentagriculture of the Moscow region. It did not disclose the location of the farm and the name of the Russian company that provided the helmets of virtual reality, but partly shared the results of the study. During the experiment, special helmets were put on the heads of the cows, the screens and lenses of which were adjusted in such a way as to match the location of the cow's eyes.
Also, the developers took into account the fact thatcows look at the world differently than humans - they see red best of all and have a poor perception of green and blue shades. With this in mind, the developers created a virtual space in the form of a bright summer field with lush vegetation. It was demonstrated to the cows with the help of customized virtual reality helmets. The authors of the study announced that the cows really began to experience less stress, only that they did not provide any specific data on the level of anxiety before and after the experiment.

It may well be that using the aggregatevirtual reality and music therapy, Russian farmers will be able to achieve an increase in the amount of milk produced. In addition, if the cows feel happier while on the virtual summer field and listening to classical music, their milk may become more useful. This assumption was proved in 2016, when scientists from the US state of Wisconsin conducted a study in which they observed an increase in the amount of calcium in the milk of happy Jersey cows.
