At this year’s Computex, the company decided to present a second version of the portable gaming station of virtual reality, offering significant performance gains.

Now the new product is called HP VR Backpack G2. The portable virtual reality gaming station is based on the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor (Intel Core i7-8850H), paired with the new Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics accelerator with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. In addition, they provide 32 GB of RAM and SSD-accumulate up to 1 TB. Such a tandem, according to the company, allows for a 30 per cent increase in productivity and a 25 per cent acceleration of the schedule.

The model of the game VR backpack is equipped with a specialdocking station, which allows to turn it into an ordinary compact stationary computer. In addition, the backpack is equipped with a whole set of useful ports. There are two USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C with Thunderbolt support, a network port, an HMD port, as well as headphone and microphone outputs.

In the portable mode, the backpack is battery powered. The kit also provides a spare battery for quick change, which will extend the running time.

The previous model of VR-backpack, released on the marketin 2017, was designed for a very specific audience of technophiles with bottomless pockets. Its cost ranged from $ 3,500. A new version of the backpack is offered for purchase starting at $ 3300. Will it help greatly to increase interest in it?
