How many antibodies after the first vaccination Sputnik V

Two weeks ago I went through the first round of vaccination"Sputnik V". More about how it was, I talked about in a separate article. During this time, nothing has fundamentally changed in my life, even the symptoms promised by the doctor were not present: no fever, no chills, no aching bones. But, given that my case can be considered unique in many ways, since I had been ill with COVID-19 almost a year ago, it was interesting for me to see how antibodies would form in my body. To do this, I decided to pass a series of tests for the detection of immunoglobulin G. To say that the result surprised me means to say nothing at all.

The main indicator that the coronavirus vaccine is working is the presence of antibodies to it

First, a little theory. Sputnik V vaccination is specially divided in two stages, to first prepare the body, and then boost the immune system. That is, after the introduction of the first component, antibodies can be produced, but in insufficient quantities.

What happens if someone who has recovered from COVID-19 vaccinates Sputnik V

Minimum antibody content in the body, indicating their effectiveness, is 12... If the indicator is equal to or exceeds 12, then there is immunity, and if it is less, then no.

I.e chance of contracting COVID-19 between the introduction of the first and second components "Sputnik V" does not go anywhere... It's just that antibodies are produced in insufficient volume and are not enough to protect the body.

After the first vaccination, you should not immediately relax, the probability of getting sick remains

The most effective vaccine "Sputnik V"reaches 35-45 days after administration. The Gamaleya Center, which developed the drug, does not give any guarantees on the volume of antibodies produced, but specifies that there will be enough of them to maintain immunity for 2 years.

Imagine my surprise when the IgG antibody positivity rate was at the level 14.97... So where did so many antibodies come from?At first I thought that the previous antibody test I did in the fall, which showed 0, was wrong. However, studying the topic in more detail showed that, most likely, it was my body, as it were, remembered the disease and provoked a sharp increase in antibodies.

The test showed the presence of antibodies after the first vaccination

What do antibodies g mean

If I understood everything correctly, the presence in the body itself IgG - this is just a marker indicatingthe body's protection from coronavirus at the time of sampling of the biomaterial. However, if there are no antibodies, this does not mean that there is no immunity. The body can itself provoke the production of immunoglobulin G to defend against infection if it senses danger. This is what most likely happened in my case.

Does it really turn out that it is useless to take the analysisfor antibodies, if they happen, or disappear? Well, in fact, not everything is so simple. It's just that now scientists have learned to separate IgG antibodies, which indicate the presence of protection right now, from T cells, or T lymphocytes.

In simple terms, it is memory cells to coronavirus.

What are T cells

TigraTest will cost 20,000 rubles and is the most accurate confirmation of immunity to the virus

It is the T cells that "remember" the infection whencollide with it, and begin to produce antibodies. By the way, therefore, if you do not have IgG antibodies (but you had a vaccination or a disease) and you met with an infected COVID-19, their number can increase dramatically.

To detect the presence of T cells, you need to take a separate TigerTest... He will surely show the presence or absencethe desired lymphocytes and will confirm or deny immunity. But, firstly, this test is done in only 2-3 laboratories in Moscow, and in most regions it is not done at all. And, secondly, the cost of the TigerTest is approximately equal to 20 thousand rubles.

Therefore, personally, I will not do it, and very few peopleof you would probably agree to that. But I plan to do at least 3 more routine antibody tests: the day before the second vaccination, 2 weeks after, and 45 days later. Let's see how many immunoglobulins will run up by that time.
