Helio G gaming chipsets arrived

The MediaTek chipmaker introduced a couple of “gaming” processors - the MediaTek Helio G80 and Helio G70, expanding the lineup begun with the Helio G90 model.

Both solutions are created using12-nanometer process technology and are positioned as the basis for mid-range smartphones. Actually, they are almost no different: the G80 is the same G70, only the speeds are slightly higher, the components are the same. Two Cortex-A75 2 GHz productive cores are adjacent to half a dozen Cortex-A55s with a frequency of 1.7 MHz for the G70 and 1.8 GHz for the G80. The Mali-G52 graphics accelerator operates at a frequency of 820 and 950 MHz, respectively. The chipsets support HyperEngine technology, which allows you to call them “gaming”. They can work with several cameras, which will allow manufacturers to build combinations on this platform, including wide-angle, tele and macro cameras. The maximum supported resolution is 48 MP.

Smartphones based on new chipsets will not be long in coming.
