Helicopter taxi on a hydrogen engine

Urban passenger traffic usingFlying vehicles are one of the most promising areas. The main advantage of innovative modes of transport is the use of alternative energy sources - electricity, sunlight and others. The new taxi from the American company Alaka’i Technologies is distinguished by the highest ecological safety due to the use of hydrogen-powered engines.

The design of the aircraft Skai was led by engineers from BMW Designworks. For the movement used 6 electric motors, which use hydrogen as a fuel.

Skai flying taxi is able to lift cargoweighing up to 454 kg and at full load, the flight duration is 4 hours. The flight radius is 643 km. Compact dimensions and vertical take-off allow Skai to be used without difficulty in a densely populated city and a shortage of parking spaces.

Skai cab is designed to carry fourpassengers and a pilot or five passengers when working in unmanned automatic mode. The developers believe that the new aircraft will be able to be used in the rescue service to evacuate people and in the ambulance service for prompt delivery of patients to medical institutions.

In fully unmanned mode, Skai canuse as a base station to provide mobile communication over a specific area for 10 hours. details about the cost of Skai and the time of the test has not yet been announced.
