Cloud streaming gaming service Stadia fromGoogle may soon expand the user experience by giving them access via 4G and 5G mobile networks. Previously, smartphone owners could only use Stadia when connected via Wi-Fi.
In order to speed up the process of launching a new serviceGoogle invites everyone to test. In order to take part in testing, the user must download the Stadia application to the device, click on his avatar and in the menu that opens, go to the "Experiments" section. Then you should connect the function "Use mobile data" and you can connect to testing the service when working via mobile networks.
Previously for using Stadia withmobile networks, users used the option with several smartphones, when one of them was switched to an access point that distributes content, while others worked with Stadia via Wi-Fi. It should be noted that Microsoft's Stadia competitors on the Project xCloud platform offered the use of mobile networks from the first days of work.
When working with Stadia mobile communicationstraffic volume up to 2.7 GB / h is required. At the same time, when working over Wi-Fi, to transfer content in 720p resolution, 4.5 GB / h is required, and for 1080p it is already 12.6 GB / h. Thus, mobile networks will be able to display content in 360p resolution. However, more details on the technical parameters of the service via mobile networks will be announced after testing.
