This is especially true for such a terrible pathology as cancer. But there is one problem: as a rule, tumor processes can be recognized already at the time of formation of a sufficiently large lesion area, and tests to determine the disease in the early stages are quite expensive. But recently, a group of domestic researchers managed to create a device that can determine the presence of lung cancer only by the composition of the exhaled air.
The Russian Fund is responsible for the development of the apparatusAdvanced Studies (FPI). The breath analyzer allows you to detect very low concentrations of certain substances in the exhaled air that may indicate the presence of tumors, such as, for example, tissue breakdown products. It was lung cancer that was not chosen by chance: the fact is that, firstly, it is one of the most life-threatening conditions, and secondly, it is lung cancer that is often recognized only at a late stage. “In the field of developing new approaches toOncological diseases were diagnosed in the early stages of their development, preliminary tests were conducted to screen for lung cancer by exhaled air. For this, we used a hardware-software complex for the detection of ultralow concentrations of a number of substances in air developed according to one of the projects of the fund. We have already carried out a number of tests on animals, the results of which have shown the promise of developing a diagnostic complex. Our complex consists of both an olfactory analyzer and an extensive neural network that allows for fast and accurate analysis. ”
