First Sony Airpeak drone supports full-frame Alpha camera (4 photos + 2 videos)


Sony, which announced last Novemberon plans for the development of the Airpeak project for the production of drones for professional users from the photo and video industry, presented the first branded drone capable of working with the Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless camera. The demonstration was held at CES2021 and according to the developers, the new Airpeak is becoming the smallest drone capable of dynamic shooting and guaranteeing high-precision, stable flight with a full-frame Alpha camera on board.


Detailed technical parameters of the firstdrone from Sony was not disclosed. During the presentation, the company focused on the drone's ability to perform high-quality dynamic shooting with stable flight. The demo shows footage of the VISION-S test engine test for a Sony concept car.


It is also known that the Airpeak drone hasits own front camera and a distance sensor, with the help of which it is controlled using artificial intelligence (presumably). High-precision control will allow the drone to effectively avoid obstacles and clearly enter the shooting target.


The official presentation of the new drone is more likelyin total will take place in the spring of this year. This is when Sony is expected to reveal more details on the Airpeak's autonomous flight duration and range.
