Newest long-range bomberThe action, developed by Northrop Grumman for the United States Air Force under the badge of the B-21 Raider, was shown by the United States military. Three art photographs, which combine renders and real photographs, will allow you to evaluate the future main US bomber, which will replace the B1 and B2.

US Air Force images show the latestplanes are depicted against the background of hangars at the bases of the United States Air Force (USAF) Ellsworth (South Dakota), Whiteman (Missouri) and Dyce (Texas). The B-21 Raider bomber will replace its predecessor, the B-2A Spirit, which entered the army in 1988 and is now unable to withstand the air defense of a potential enemy.

The creators of the B-21 Raider suggest that the aircraftwill be able to successfully counter the Russian S-400 air defense system or the 5th generation J-20 fighters in service with the Chinese army. The aircraft will receive modern high-precision and high-tech conventional and nuclear weapons.

When designing the aircraft, the scheme was used"Flying wing", which allows to reduce the visibility of the aircraft for the means of detecting a potential enemy. According to the military, the aircraft will be most effective at high and medium altitudes. The B-21 Raider will be half to two-thirds the size of its predecessor, the B-2. At the same time, the shape of the hull in aircraft has practically not changed.
Several changes were made in the hull design to increase the internal space to improve the comfort of the crew and to accommodate all weapons inside the hull.

According to the military, it is planned to purchase up to 100units of B-21 Raider. There are only 19 B-2 Spirit stealth bombers in the U.S. Air Force to date. The first real flights of the new bombers are scheduled for 2021.
