The longest study in the worlduniversal basic income came to the conclusion that such payments increase the confidence of citizens in the future, their moral and psychological state, as well as financial well-being. Moreover, there is even a slight increase in employment.
The experiment was conducted in Finland starting fromNovember 2017 and ending October 2018. When testing, two thousand unemployed were involved in the age category from 25 to 58 years, who were paid 560 euros per month in the form of a mandatory payment. The allowance did not decrease even when a person was hired or raised his salary. A citizen of Finland could not refuse to participate in the experiment, since testing was carried out within the framework of the approved legislation.
Test results were compared with the averageindicators of 173 thousand official unemployed who are paid a standard allowance. Surprisingly, people who received basic unconditional income worked for the experiment for 78 days, which is 6 days more than the official unemployed.
It is noted that in people receiving unconditionalincome, rather than official unemployment benefits, increases financial well-being, improves mental health and confidence in the future.
