Elon Musk is preparing to launch a tunnel under Las Vegas for the exhibition CES 2021 (video)

Among the numerous projects of Elon Musk, everything is likethey forgot about the most mundane program - underground tunnels for high-speed movement in cities. The Boring Company, meanwhile, recently completed the drilling of the first of two tunnels under Las Vegas, necessary for the introduction of the innovative Mask transportation system.

Excavation is complete for the first of twotunnels that will include Elon Musk’s innovative underground transportation system beneath the LVCC campus. The project is scheduled to debut in January 2021.

In just three months, Boring experts drilled1.61 km long tunnel at a depth of 12 meters under the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCVA) exhibition venue, which hosts the annual CES Electronics Show. According to the Mask project, two tunnels with three stations will be created connecting the remote parts of the exhibition complex.

Using special capsules, transportThe Mask system can transport up to 4,400 people per hour. The road between stations takes one minute, instead of 15 minutes, which otherwise have to be overcome on foot.

The completion of the project is scheduled for January 2021 for the next CES 2021 exhibition, one of the exhibits of which will be the Mask tunnels. The project price is 52.5 million dollars.
