Data of eight million telephone conversations of citizens of Russia and Ukraine got on the Internet


Another leak of confidential information wasidentified by cyber security company WizCase. The unsecured database of the Ringostat phone tracking service was identified by WizCase experts on the ElasticSearch server.

WizCase team has identified the databasecontaining information with a volume of 800 GB, which contained confidential user data collected by Ringostat, whose main clients are citizens of Russia and Ukraine. In total, according to WizCase, the database contains data on 67 thousand Ringostat customers.

The database contained at least about 8 millionvoice recordings, 13 million phone numbers, hundreds of millions of call logs and metadata. There were about 2 billion records in the public domain. Based on the metadata, you can get information about phone numbers, both outgoing and incoming calls, call time, IP addresses of users, as well as other personal data of Ringostat customers. As of today, access to the database has already been closed.
