Coronavirus canceled MWC 2020

The most representative and popular exhibitionMobile Technology Mobile World Congress (MWC 2020) is officially being canceled. The reason was the rampant coronavirus epidemic in China, which today has claimed 1383 lives. The traditional events scheduled for February 24 in Barcelona are canceled, which may affect the future of this regular and most popular exhibition, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Manufacturers to participate in the exhibitionmobile technology forced to invest the many millions of dollars needed to rent exhibition halls and venues, accommodate exhibitors, equipment and other needs. The organizer of the GSM Association, since 2006, has been hosting MWC events. An unplanned break in events can cause serious financial loss, which puts the exhibition on the brink of existence.

However, despite the threat of financial collapseGSMA leaders decided not to hold public events that pose an additional threat to the health of visitors. The organizers said that health and the environment are more important and refused to host the MWC Barcelona 2020.

This step was logical, since the exhibition in thisyear would be a record for the minimum number of participants and visitors. Earlier, many leading high-tech companies refused to participate in MWC 2020 events. Among these companies: HUAWEI, Sony, Ericsson, HMD, Intel, LG, Nokia, NVIDIA, Facebook, Amazon, NTT Docomo
