At the Auto Shanghai 2021 auto show, the companyAudi unveiled the Q4 E-tron electric crossover and the A6 E-tron electric sedan concept, positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla Model S. in partnership with Porsche. The use of PPE allows you to optimize the placement of batteries in the case, while increasing the maneuverability and stability of the car.
Another feature of the Q4 concept modelE-tron becomes a lighting system consisting of Digital Matrix LED headlights, OLED rear headlights and additional LED projectors lighting signal elements along the side surfaces of the body. The headlights are capable of projecting various images onto the wall, including video games.
Technical parameters of the all-wheel drive conceptelectric vehicles Q4 E-tron provide for the installation of engines with a total capacity of 469 hp, generating a torque of 800 Nm, which will allow the car to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds. The overall dimensions in terms of parameters with a length of 4.96 meters, a width of 1.96 meters and a height of 1.44 meters completely coincide with the dimensions of the internal combustion engine of the A6 version.
The autonomy of the Q4 E-tron is ensuredbattery with a capacity of 100 kWh, which guarantees 700 km of track on a single charge (according to the WLTP cycle). The use of 270 kW fast charging technology allows you to charge the battery from 5% to 80% in just 25 minutes. Provision is made for the production of a rear-wheel drive modification with lower power, reduced weight and increased autonomous travel range.
However, the most important advantage of the Q4 E-tron islighting system. Digital Matrix LED headlights (for use outside the US only) are capable of projecting an image using a million micromirror shutter system that fires up to 5,000 times per second. The developers promise to project high-definition images onto a vertical surface, even allowing you to play video games. Of course, it will not be Cyberpunk 2077, but the Audi branded game about space races on rockets, made in black and white format, the user will be able to play using a smartphone during a short wait for the battery to recharge.
The tail lights are also fitted withOLED LEDs. The warning system on the sides of the body will provide increased traffic safety and is capable of projecting an image of signals that warn about the opening of doors when passengers approach the car, as well as alert others about the approach of the car.
The Q4 E-tron will be launched in late 2022 - early 2023. The cost of the future Tesla Model S rival has not yet been announced.
