China sold 230,000 electric cars in April

According to the China Automobile Association, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles, to which

include all-electric machines andplug-in hybrid vehicles totaled 1.56 million units between January and April this year. Thus, this segment of cars grew by 112.2% in the Chinese market. At the same time, it is noted that in general, the new car market in China in April demonstrates the minimum monthly production volume over the past 10 years. In total, 1.2 million cars were produced in China in April, of which 312 thousand cars were new energy models, the growth of green cars in April was 43.9% in terms of production. Sales of such cars in April amounted to 299 thousand units with an increase of 44.6%. Purely electric cars were produced 242 thousand and sold 231 thousand. Tesla and BYD became the leading companies in sales in the segment of electric and hybrid SUVs.
