Camera working underwater without wires and battery (video)

MIT engineers have developed a wireless underwater camera. Plus, it doesn't even need a battery.

With the help of the new device, scientists will be able to easily explore hard-to-reach areas of the ocean. You can, for example, monitor pollution or monitor the effects of climate change.

MIT chambercan take color photographs of distant underwater objects. Even in dark places, the image is clear. Also, the device is able to send data in real time.

The new camera is about 100,000 times moreenergy efficient than others. The device converts the mechanical energy of sound waves passing through water into electrical energy that powers imaging and communications equipment. After capturing and encoding image data, the camera also uses sound waves to transmit them to the receiver. At the end point, the image is reconstructed.
