In early August, after some delay caused by global industry problems, Cadillac engineers unveiled the first prototype of the Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV, combining state-of-the-art technology with the company's classic design.
Cadillac Lyriq electric car presented 6August and it was given the name "show car", which signals possible modifications and fundamental changes in the car on the way to mass production. The demo luxury SUV is built on the versatile Ultium EV platform. The consumer will receive modifications of the Cadillac Lyriq with full or rear wheel drive. The radius of autonomous travel on a single battery charge will be up to 480 km (300 miles).
Currently the manufacturer does not indicatedetailed characteristics of the power plant of the Cadillac Lyriq, limited to the statement about the possible use of fast charging, low battery location, which improves the maneuverability of the car.
The presentation was primarilyfocuses on showing the interior design and telling the story of a future control system using a giant screen and augmented reality. The exterior of the Cadillac Lyriq resembles some of the concept cars already presented by the company, it has separate taillights, a recognizable front grill with integrated lighting.
The developers paid much attention to the presentationindividual settings of the car, capable, for example, of "recognizing" the approaching owner, signaling him with the help of light effects. The car will automatically adjust the seats, mirrors and climate control for a specific driver or passengers.
Control system in the form of a 33-inchLED screen is located on the dashboard and supports over 1 billion colors. Cadillac engineers say the Lyriq has the highest pixel density for any car display on the market.
Cadillac Lyriq electric car supportsproprietary Super Cruise technology, which provides the ride as close as possible to the autopilot system. The technology of remote parking in automatic mode is also supported, noise suppression and noise isolation systems are used, the AKG Studio audio system with 19 speakers.
Serial production of the Cadillac Lyriq electric car will begin in 2022. The price of the model has not yet been announced.
