BOE has new items: stretchable tablet and flexible smartphone (2 photos + video)

"Roll" screen, folding right instand, no longer news: this is what we saw on the LG TV and no longer perceive this design as a novelty. However, the company from the Middle Kingdom BOE, whose main specialization is the production of displays, developed and presented the original prototype of a portable gadget with a flexible screen. Disconnect from double-bendable analogs: the new product twists a thin matrix inside the device case, while allowing, if necessary, stretching the device to the desired diagonal.

Gadget screen diagonal in a collapsed stateis 7 inches, in the stretched it reaches the size of a 12.3-inch tablet. For now, this is still a prototype, and developers are only planning to add touch input to the device.

During the presentation, BOE demonstrated other original designs:
• Ultra-wide display for the car, "stretched" on the dashboard full-length (between the rear-view mirrors);
• a more “traditional” model of a bendable smartphone with a 6-inch screen when folded or 7.7-inch in an expanded one;
• TV with a thin display, made by BD Cell technology;
• 27-inch monitor with 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels), brightness of 460 nits and image contrast of 20,000: 1 with a body thickness of only 10.8 mm.
