BMW plans to sell cars directly to consumers

BMW plans to switch to an agency form of car sales and begin to abandon traditional

dealer centers. The company is currently discussing transition plans with European dealers. The agent sales model assumes the rejection of price regulation by dealers and actually leads to direct contact between the buyer and the manufacturer. Buyers of BMW cars will order cars from the company's warehouses from the available stock or choose the necessary equipment for the production of the car, and the dealerships will actually perform the function of transferring the car to the buyer and its further maintenance. Prices for cars of the brand will be fixed, there will be no discounts or markups. Similar plans are being considered by BMW's competitors, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
