Google announced a few days ago the junior Pixel of the sixth series, a smartphone called Pixel 6a.

The screen (OLED) is small by modern standards, only 6.1″ (90 cm²). The resolution for such a diagonal is high, 1080 × 2400 (431 ppi). There is no increased refresh rate, only the standard 60 Hz.

The battery is not particularly large, only 4410 mAh. Charging speed - 18W.

The most curious thing is with the cameras.More precisely, with the main camera with a resolution of 12 MP (with optical stabilization). I did not find official information about the type of sensor used. But the parameters fit Sony IMX363. He repeatedly appeared in the leaks preceding the announcement. This is a very popular sensor with large pixels (1.4µm), which Google has been actively using in its smartphones since the 2018 Pixel 3 model. And, for a second, this is the same sensor used in the Pixel 5, which is in the 40th place in the Dxomark rating next to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Given that photography is now computational, and the power of the Pixel 6a is hoo, the photo capabilities of the new smartphone can be quite impressive. Moreover, the Google Tensor chip is just sharpened for all sorts of such things.

The rest of the cameras are not so interesting.There is a wide-angle module with a similar resolution of 12 MP (sensor, presumably Sony IMX386). And, of course, there is a front camera with a very modest 8 MP resolution.

What else can be said interesting.Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, barometer - everything is there. The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen. There is no standard audio output, as expected. There is full protection against water and dust according to IP67 class.

And about money. The Pixel 6a will cost €459 (₽31,600, $480) in Europe, £399 (₽32,400, $492) in the UK, $449 (₽29,500) in the States, and ￥53,900 (₽27,300, $415) in Japan.
