Augmented Reality Glasses for Builders and Production Workers: Dreams or Reality

All over the world, modern technologies are being introduced in various fields. Construction and manufacturing is no exception.

One of the first signs in this direction was X-Craft, a special augmented reality device that is attached to an industrial helmet.

This dedicated headband with goggles, cameras and headphones is designed to enable remote communication, simplify day-to-day operations or teach from a distance.

In addition to augmented reality technologies andintegration with artificial intelligence, a 5G module is built into the headband that provides instant processing, storage and transmission of information in real time. Also, the device is equipped with a movable camera with a wide viewing angle.

The glasses themselves display various useful information about sensors, parameters, and when you call a worker wearing glasses, a screen with the interlocutor will be displayed.

In order for the glasses to work as in the video, plant managers will have to digitize the equipment and accommodate many different circuits and models. But if it makes dangerous work in difficult conditions easier, managers will probably take such a step.

Naturally, such technologies will be useful forconstruction sites, if manufacturers of building materials agree to place digital tags: for example, a worker will be able to estimate the weight of some cargo or the name of paints, cement. In general, the possibilities of such a thing are extremely wide, but it all depends on whether the idea receives a positive response.
