Modern simulators significantly simplifiedflight training process. At the same time, the safety of students has significantly increased, the costs at the initial stage of training have decreased and the efficiency of teaching the basic skills necessary for the transition to real flights has increased. The engineers of the US military decided to increase the effectiveness of pilot training and suggested using virtual reality in flight schools.
Increased speed of pilot training causedshortage of flight personnel. At the first stage of training in virtual reality, future pilots will study the design of helicopters. After passing the test tests, students learn the art of helicopter control. Learning using virtual reality will allow you to release 1,300 pilots a year. Test training was conducted in 2018, when 13 out of 20 students were able to complete a full course of training in just 4 months.
Accelerated training program will not touchAir Force and Navy pilots who will be trained on simulators and real aircraft. For army pilots, the curriculum may be reduced. Training a pilot to control a helicopter takes only one year.
It should be noted that the experiments do not affect civil aviation, where flight safety comes first, and the training time for pilots should not be reduced.
