Announcement. Xiaomi 12S Pro is the average flagship

Yesterday, Xiaomi introduced three 12S series smartphones. Actually
Xiaomi 12s,
Xiaomi 12S Pro and
Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
This news is about the average smartphone of the series, about Xiaomi 12S Pro.

In fact, everything is quite prosaic.Xiaomi 12S Pro is like two drops of water similar to the Xiaomi 12 Pro announced at the end of last year. I see two major differences. First, the chipset. The trio of 12S series smartphones are the world's first smartphones based on the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which, as they promise, is slightly more powerful than its predecessor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and besides, it is not so hot, saves precious electricity better. There are still few statistics on the performance of the new chip. The only AnTuTu result I've seen is just over a million points.

The second difference lies somewhere in the cells. Now they have a “Leica” mark next to them. Like, we are now working with a world famous photo brand. Perhaps the lenses of the lens have been corrected. Or they cheated with the software. So the characteristics of the cameras remained exactly the same as they were.

The front camera seems to be identical to thoseused in other smartphones of the 12S series, it has a resolution of 32 MP. But the rear set is different. Three cameras, all three have the same 50 MP resolution. The main module (Sony IMX707) with optical stabilization, wide-angle. And a TV. A modest telephoto, the increase gives only a twofold. But still a TV.

Other characteristics.

There is a lot of memory. 8 or 12 GB RAM.128, 256 or even 512 GB permanent. There is no support for memory cards. Given that the cameras here are serious and support 8K video recording, it hardly makes sense to limit yourself to the version with 128 GB of permanent memory.

The screen is large, 6.73″ (109 cm²). LTPO AMOLED-matrix of high resolution, as much as 1440 × 3200 (521 ppi). The refresh rate is up to 120 Hz.

Battery. Average capacity, 4600 mAh. But charging is fast just to disgrace, as much as 120 watts. Plus there is wireless charging. And it is also, to put it mildly, not slow - 50 watts.

From the sad - except that the fingerprint scanner hidden under the screen. Everything else is available. NFC, the latest version of Wi-Fi, more, more, more…

Band 20 is missing from “our” LTE bands. All the rest, it seems, are in place.

Chinese prices are. ¥4699 (₽40900, $743), ¥4999 (₽43600, $791), ¥5399 (₽47000, $854) and ¥5999 (₽52300, $949) for varieties 8+128, 8+256, 12+256 and 12 +512 GB respectively.

I already see a smartphone on AliExpress, and even in two stores (one, two). The price starts from $850 (₽60400) for the 8+128 GB version.
