Announcement. Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X - compact almost flagships

Today Xiaomi in its homeland in China presented a series of three very serious smartphones. Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro - in ascending order of seriousness and price.

This news is dedicated to two junior devices fromTrinity, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X. The news is one for two, since smartphones are, in fact, twins. Only the chipsets are different, but the older one has wireless charging. About the oldest (and largest) smartphone, about the Xiaomi 12 Pro, you can read here.

So. Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X. The first is positioned as a compact (well, by modern standards) flagship. The second is just a slightly weakened version of it.

Xiaomi 12 is built on the most powerful available onthe current moment of chipsets, on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So in AnTuTu we are waiting for around a million points. The Xiaomi 12X has a weaker chipset, although it also belongs to the flagship category. This is Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. So in AnTuTu the points will be about a third less, in the region of seven hundred thousand.

There is a lot of memory, but it cannot be said that it is prohibitivelot. 8 or 12 GB of operational. 128 or 256 GB of constant. There is no memory card support. Considering that the cameras here are serious and support 8K video recording, it hardly makes sense to limit ourselves to the version with 128 GB of permanent memory.

The screens are 6.28 ″. AMOLED matrices with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. High resolution, 1080 × 2400 (419 ppi).

Battery. Average capacity, 4500 mAh. Fast charging, 67W. But still not as fast as that of the big brother Xiaomi 12 Pro - it has 120 watts in general.
The Xiaomi 12 also has very fast wireless charging (50W). The X model doesn't have one.

The front cameras have a resolution of 32 MP.The rear set consists of three cameras, 50 + 13 + 5 MP. The main module is the familiar Sony IMX766 (used in a bunch of OPPO, OnePlus, Realme devices) ... There is optical stabilization. The second camera is wide angle. The third is macro (no one needs it, but with autofocus). Alas and ah, there is no telephoto. So our beauties do not pretend to be a photo flagship.

Another sad thing is a fingerprint scanner hidden under the screen.

Band 20 is missing from “our” LTE bands. Everything else seems to be in place.

Chinese prices.

The Xiaomi 12X costs ¥ 3199 (₽36800, $ 502), ¥ 3499 (₽40200, $ 549) and ¥ 3799 (₽43,700, $ 596) for the 8 + 128, 8 + 256 and 12 + 256 GB variants, respectively.

Xiaomi 12X

Xiaomi 12 costs ¥ 3699 (₽42500, $ 580), ¥ 3999 (₽46000, $ 628) and ¥ 4399 (₽50600, $ 690) for the same variants.

Xiaomi 12

As you can easily calculate, for a faster chipset and wireless charging you have to pay a modest ¥ 500 (₽5750, $ 78.5).

I haven't found the youngest of the brothers on AliExpress yet. And Xiaomi 12 is already there. $ 699 (₽52400), $ 749 (₽56200) and $ 799 (₽59900) for the same versions.
