Announcement. Sharp Simple Sumaho 6 - simple and expensive (smartphone for older Japanese)

Sharp announced in native Japana smartphone called Sharp Simple Sumaho 6. The original name of the device is written in hieroglyphs, “Sharp シンプルスマホ6” (“Sharp Simple Smartphone 6”, literally translated into Russian).

The device is intended for the local operator SoftBank and is aimed at the elderly. Simplified interface, physical buttons under the screen, some soft gadgets.

In terms of iron characteristics, we have a completely classic modern mid-range smartphone. Moderately compact and with support for 5G networks.

Traditionally for Japan there is full protection against water and dust according to the IP68 class. The manufacturer directly recommends washing the device with soap and wiping it with alcohol-containing cloths.

It also mentions MIL-STD-810H compliance and drop resistance, but no details. From what height it is allowed to fall, is not specified.

The chipset is solid, Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. So in AnTuTu it will be under four hundred thousand points. Memory is not very much, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent.

The screen is small, only 5.7″ (81 cm²). Resolution 720×1520 (295 ppi). The refresh rate is only the standard 60 Hz.

The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. Nothing is said about the charging speed.

The cameras aren't very good. Front resolution 8 MP. The rear module is double, 12 + 2 MP.

The fingerprint scanner is located on the side. Apparently, there is no NFC module. Fifth Wi-Fi, Type-C, eSIM support. There are few LTE bands supported, there is neither the seventh nor the twentieth.

In official press releases, information aboutthere is no cost for Sharp Simple Sumaho 6. But Japanese news sites confidently write about 54,720 yen (₽38,500, $446) at the start of sales. Taking into account the famous Japanese tax or not, I did not understand. But, in any case, it is extremely expensive.
