Announcement. RugGear RG935 Industrial Hot Swap Tablet

The company RugGear showed the world another protectedindustrial tablet. This time ten inches. RugGear RG935 is not their first tablet. But all the others were eight inches at the most. Curiously, the tablet is already on sale. And not just anywhere, but in Switzerland.

The most unusual feature of the tablet is itsaccumulators. Two pieces of 4000 mAh, i.e. a total of 8000 mAh. Productively promises the possibility of hot swapping. Right in the process of the tablet. Without closing the program and (importantly) without resorting to the help of screwdrivers. How all this looks in practice is not very clear. I didn't find any videos or instructions. Logically, separate spare batteries and some kind of charger for them should also be on sale. But so far nothing of the kind is visible either.

Another feature of the tablet is a large numberphysical buttons. And all of them are located in a row under the screen. Power button, volume buttons, standard android “back-home-tasks”. And three customizable buttons to which you can assign something of your own.

The degree of security of the tablet is not very clear. It mentions IP68 compliance and MIL-STD-810H, but no details. They promise that the tablet is not afraid of falling from heights up to one and a half meters. Well, apparently, you can bathe-wash-rinse it a little.

Connectors. Four contacts are visible on the bottom face. Maybe you can connect some keyboard through them? Do not know.

One of the pictures shows the tablet in a stand. Perhaps the stand is also a charger and charges the tablet just through these contacts?

On one of the side faces, closed with Type-C plugs and a full-size USB are visible.

A few words about traditional tablet characteristics.

The power of the tablet is small. The chipset here is Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, so we won’t even get to two hundred thousand points in AnTuTu. 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage. Plus, you can expand with a memory card.

The screen is interesting in that it is able to recognizetouch and wet hands, and gloved hands. And so - we have a classic IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 10.1″. The resolution is standard, 1920 × 1200 (224 ppi). There is a protective glass. Gorilla Glass of an unnamed generation.

The cameras are simple and hardly too good. 5 MP front, 13 MP rear.

There is an NFC module, support for LTE networks, dual-band Wi-Fi. Gyroscope and barometer are mentioned. Apparently, there is no fingerprint scanner.

And about the price. Of course, the RugGear RG935 is not a cheap tablet. ₣619 (₽53100, $673) at the start of sales. Will it reach us? Intuition tells me that this is unlikely.
