Announcement. Redmi K40S - now with optical stabilization. Looking forward to Poco F3S?

Yesterday in China, the honorable public, in addition to the pre-flagships of the K50 series, was also presented with the Redmi K40S smartphone. This is an update of the Redmi K40 smartphone from a year ago.

Redmi K40 is not officially sold outside of China.But its exact copy Poco F3 is actively sold. It is possible that history will repeat itself with the K40S. Rename it for us to Poco F3S or something like that.

Redmi K40S has few differences from its ancestor.Appearance has changed a little. The newcomer does not look more like a K40, but a couple of Redmi K50 / Redmi K50 Pro. The charging speed has also increased. And the main camera has acquired optical stabilization.

So. Characteristics.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset formally no longer belongs to the flagship ones. But performance is nowhere to be found. We are waiting for around 700 thousand AnTuTu points.

Memory. 6, 8 or even 12 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of permanent. There is no support for memory cards.

The screen is large, 6.67″ (107 cm²). AMOLED-matrix resolution 1080 × 2400 (395 ppi). Ultra-high refresh rate - 120 Hz. The sensor polling frequency is 360 Hz.

Medium capacity battery, 4500 mAh. Charging at 67 W. A full charge from zero to 100% takes, according to official figures, 38 minutes.

Cameras. The main module is Sony IMX582 at 48 MP.Auxiliary - wide by 8 MP and macro by 2 MP. (The macro of the ancestor, by the way, was even more interesting - 5 MP). Front camera - 20 MP. In general, the set of cameras is suspiciously similar to the one in the Redmi K50. So it is possible that in the front camera there is the same sensor as there, i.e. Sony IMX596.

There is NFC, there is 5G, there is Wi-Fi 6, there is Type-C. There is even an IR transmitter to control all kinds of TVs. And the fingerprint scanner is correct, sideways.

There is no support for “our” LTE bands (7th and 20th). There is no standard audio output.

Chinese prices, as usual, shine with humanism. ¥1799 (₽29700, $283), ¥1999 (₽33000, $315), ¥2199 (₽36300, $346) and ¥2399 (₽39600, $378) for versions 6+128, 8+128, 8+256 and 12 +256 GB respectively.
