Kyocera has announced a fresh, protected 5G smartphone. I called it without fancy - Kyocera Torque 5G. Intended newbie for local Japanese operator au.
Protection. As far as I could figure out, Kyocera reports on passing some 28 tests, including 21 tests from the famous MIL-STD-810H set. Dust and water resistant (IP68, of course). Washing with soap, extreme temperatures, drops, etc.
As a smartphone, it is a very solid middle class. Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset - about three hundred thousand AnTuTu points. 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage. There is support for memory cards.
The battery is suddenly not very big, 4000 mAh.
The screen is also not very big, only 5.5 ″. No cutouts - strict rectangle. The resolution is 1080 × 2160, which gives 439 ppi on such a modest diagonal.
There are few cameras. Front camera with a resolution of 8 MP. The rear camera is double. The main module is 24 MP plus a wide-angle 16 MP.
NFC, Type-C, Wi-Fi 6 - everything is there.
And about the price. 88885 yen (₽59600, $ 814). This includes taxes. But still, the cost somehow bites. Don’t you?
