And here he is.In India, the announcement of an inexpensive smartphone Poco C55 took place. As smart people predicted, we have before us an almost exact copy of the last smartphone of last year - the Redmi 12C sold (yet?) only in China.

What is the difference between our almost twins?

• Slightly different appearance. The Poco C55 has a leather-look back, while the Redmi 12C is nicely striped. Plus, the design of the camera block is different.
• A slightly different set of supported frequencies. However, there are no native LTE bands for us either there or here.

About the characteristics.

Chipset. Not very fresh MediaTek Helio G85. Performance is typically budget. We are waiting for 200-250 thousand points in AnTuTu.

Memory. 4 or 6 GB operational, 64 or 128 GB permanent. Plus support for memory cards, of course, is available.

The battery is standard, 5000 mAh. Charging speed is low, only 10W. Whoever understands life is in no hurry.

The screen is large but small. Diagonal 6.71″ (106 cm²). Resolution is only 720×1650 (268 ppi). Of course, there is no talk of any increased frequencies.

Cameras are simple. 5 MP front. 50 MP plus something auxiliary at the back. The main camera sensor is not named. But with a 95% probability, this is, of course, the Samsung ISOCELL JN1.

Other. There is no NFC module. Wi-Fi dual band. The fingerprint scanner is located at the back in the old fashioned way. And - alas and ah - the ancient Micro-USB connector.

About money. Poco C55 will cost ₹9499 (₽8500, $115) and ₹10999 (₽9850, $133) in India for the 4+64 and 6+128 GB versions, respectively.

For comparison, Redmi 12C models in China are asking for ¥699 (₽7,540, $102) and ¥899 (₽9,690, $131) for the same amount of memory.
