Announcement. Poco C50 is a copy of one budget smartphone for India

Something all the new items that I write about at the beginning of 2023 are so budgetary that it starts to be a little alarming. A trend, such a trend...

Xiaomi has introduced the budget smartphone Poco C50 in India.

The novelty is, in fact, already well known to you and me, because we have before us an exact copy of the Redmi A1 + device that is actively sold in our country (announced in October 2022).

Briefly about the characteristics.

The chipset is a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22.If you're lucky, you'll get around 100,000 points in AnTuTu. Only 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory (plus there is support for memory cards, of course). Smartphones work on a stripped-down version of Android - 12 Go Edition.

The screen, of course, the stars from the sky is not enough.IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 6.52 ″ (103 cm²). The resolution is low, only 720×1600 (269 ppi). There is no increased refresh rate, but there is a sensor polling rate increased to 120 Hz.

With the battery, everything is in order. Standard 5000 mAh. There is no fast charging, only 10 watts.

The cameras are very simple. The front has a resolution of 5 MP. The rear camera is double. The main one has a resolution of 8 MP. And something helpful. Most likely a traditional depth sensor.

In the "other" section, everything is bad. Almost all.The fingerprint scanner, at least, is available - on the back. Otherwise… Single-band Wi-Fi, ancient Micro-USB. There is no NFC module. Of the sensors - generally one accelerometer. Both the proximity sensor and the light sensor are “virtual”. What do you want for that kind of money?

But the look is cute. Texture "under the skin".

About money. In India, the Poco C50 will be priced at ₹6499 (₽5520, $78.4) and ₹7299 (₽6200, $88.1) for the 2+32 and 3+32GB variants, respectively.

For comparison, in Russia Redmi A1+ costs ₽4990 ($70.9) for the 2+32 GB version (something is not visible on the older version).
