Announcement. Nokia G22 is a smartphone that is easy to repair

HMD Global has announced the Nokia G22 smartphone.

The main (and only) feature of the Nokia G22 isexcellent maintainability. Broken battery or broken screen? You stomp on iFixit, buy spare parts and tools there, and calmly repair your smartphone yourself. You will find instructions there. Or look it up on YouTube. Wow, the first review has already appeared. It talks about changing the battery. And it even shows up.

If we forget about maintainability (and environmental friendliness), then it's easy to find that in all other respects the Nokia G22 is almost an exact copy of last year's Nokia G21.

Chipset - Unisoc T606. Already familiar to everyone. We are waiting in AnTuTu in the region of two hundred thousand points. As you, I think, know, by modern standards, this is the level of state employees, nothing more.

Memory. RAM is not enough, only 4 GB. Permanent memory - 64 or 128 GB. Support for memory cards is available.

The screen is interesting with a slightly increased refresh rate - up to 90 Hz. But here the resolution is small. Only 720×1600, which at a diagonal of 6.52″ (103 cm²) gives only 269 dpi.

The battery is good, 5050 mAh. There is a slightly accelerated charging - 20 W (against 18 W for the Nokia G21 - that's an upgrade, an upgrade!)

Cameras. The front has a resolution of 8 MP. Behind the trio 50 + 2 + 2 MP - the main module, macro, depth sensor.

The NFC module will not be available in all countries. There is a fifth Wi-Fi and Type-C. The fingerprint scanner is combined with the power button. There is no gyroscope.

The recommended retail price for Europe is from €179 (₽14200, $191).

About the cost of spare parts. The battery was priced at $29.99 (₽2240). The original screen will cost more, $54.99 (₽4110). You can also buy a spare back cover - $29.99 (₽2240). The cheapest way is to change the charging connector - i.e. USB port and adjacent board - $24.99 (₽1870).

What do you think? As for me, the idea is great. But the smartphone for its demonstration was chosen not the most suitable one.
