Announcement. Moto G100 - old familiar almost flagship, global version

Nothing new. The newly announced Motorola Moto G100 smartphone is simply the “Chinese” Motorola Edge S, renamed for global markets. Well, it has also slightly risen in price.

Motorola Edge S is now standing in China as far as I amcan see, ¥ 2,399 (₽28,000, $ 368) for the 8 + 128GB version. You can also find it on AliExpress - for $ 415.59 (₽32,400) at the moment for the same 8 + 128 GB. And the price for Europe for the same variety will be € 499.99 (₽45,000, $ 591). The difference is substantial.

The smartphone has already been given out to reviewers and bloggers, but there are not too many reviews yet.

Let me briefly remind you what this smartphone is.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which isan easy upgrade from last year's Snapdragon 865+. Those. insanely powerful, but still weaker than the current flagship chip Snapdragon 888. We won't get to seven hundred thousand points in AnTuTu, but we will probably take 650 thousand.

Memory.In Europe, apparently, only the 8 + 128 GB variant will be on sale. In other geolocations, alternative options are possible. In general, RAM can be 6, 8 or even 12 GB. Permanent - 128 or 256 GB. There is support for memory cards, but the tray is hybrid.

The first sign is “not a flagship”. The screen is not AMOLED. The usual IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 6.7 ″. Very elongated. Resolution 1080 × 2520 (409 ppi). Plus refresh rates up to 90 Hz.

The battery is excellent, the battery is capacious. Have already become almost the standard 5000 mAh. The second sign of “not a flagship” is not particularly fast charging, only 20 watts. And there is no wireless charging either.

The front camera is double, 16 + 8 MP. Main module plus wide angle. For the sake of the second peephole, I had to dig a second hole in the screen.

There are four eyes behind. 64 + 16 + 2 MP plus ToF camera. Main module, wide-angle, depth sensor. No telephoto cameras, no sophisticated stabilization systems - another sign of “not a flagship”.

Other. There is an NFC module. There is support for 5G networks. There are all the necessary LTE frequencies for Russia. There is Wi-Fi 6, Type-C. And, surprise, there is even a good old 3.5 mm audio output.
