Announcement. Hotwav Cyber 8 - $ 100 rugged smartphone with a crazy battery

In October, a little-known (to me) company Hotwavannounced and released on sale a very curious protected smartphone Hotwav Cyber 7. For very little money you could get a good chipset, a large amount of memory, a super battery, all imaginable and inconceivable protections, support for 5G networks, fast charging, a night vision camera, etc.

Oddly enough, there is no furore on the smartphone marketdid not produce. Even the reviews are not visible at all. But the guys from Hotwav didn't calm down. And they released another smartphone called Hotwav Cyber 8. The same crazy battery as its predecessor, the same protections and ... that's all. Otherwise, we have a completely nondescript budget smartphone. However, quite inexpensive, which somewhat justifies the meaning of its existence. Although, of course, the frenzy with which the downgrade was made is impressive.

Protection. The abbreviations IP68 and IP69K are traditionally listed. For some reason, MIL-STD-810G was silent about. “Shockproof” is mentioned, but no details.

The battery is huge, as much as 8280 mAh. But the charging speed is low - only 10 W (18 W for its predecessor).

The chipset is well known to everyone. MediaTek Helio P22. About a hundred thousand points in AnTuTu - there is no more budget. The predecessor uses the much faster MediaTek Dimensity 700.

Memory is relatively good. 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

The screen is simple. Diagonal 6.3 ″. The resolution is low, only 720 × 1520 (267 ppi).

With the cameras, everything also became completely sad. No nightlife, of course. Only the standard budget trio 16 + 5 + 2 MP. Main camera, macromodule, depth sensor. Plus an 8 MP front camera.

Other. And here, by the way, everything is not bad. An NFC module is available. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the side. Dual band Wi-Fi, Type-C. Unless the support for 5G networks has been bitten off.

In fact, the chipset would be a little prettier andfaster, the Hotwav Cyber 8 could well be considered a very curious smartphone. Well, so, perhaps, still not. Although the price is nice. Modest $ 99.99 (₽7130) for the first hundred customers, $ 109.99 (₽7850) for the next one hundred and fifty, $ 129.99 (₽9,290) for the next two hundred and fifty. Plus, you will have to pay two hundred rubles for delivery to Russia.

And, judging by the speed with which sales are going, it will not be difficult to meet the first hundred lucky ones.
