Announcement. Honor Magic4 and Honor Magic4 Pro are flagship smartphones with an unusual resolution

On the last day of winter, Honor introduced a couple of smartphones. flagship smartphones. Getting to know
Honor Magic4
and
Honor Magic4 Pro.

Both smartphones of the series are identical in size and hardware. Indeed, they are very close to each other in many respects.

So.

Flagships - flagship hardware. The most powerful of the chipsets, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So we are waiting for a well-deserved million points in AnTuTu. Well, or so.

Both smartphones have 8 or 12 GB of RAM. Permanent - 128, 256 or 512 GB. Although no. 128 GB is only for the youngest of the devices. Support for memory cards can not be seen.

The screens are huge, 6.81″, heavily rounded on the sides. Both are LTPO OLED, i.e. with a cunning refresh rate optimization scheme that actively saves electricity. The refresh rate is worthy of the title of flagship - up to 120 Hz. The resolution of smartphones is different, high and somehow unusual. If I'm not mistaken, neither one nor the other permission has ever been met by anyone. 1224×2664 (431 ppi) for Honor Magic4. The older of the devices, the Honor Magic4 Pro, is a little higher - 1312 × 2848 (460 ppi).

Batteries are slightly different. In terms of capacity, the youngest smartphone is in the lead, it has 4800 mAh. There is fast wired charging 66W. In the older device, the battery capacity is half a size less, 4600 mAh, but there is support for wireless charging, and a very powerful one - 50 watts. Yes, and conventional wired charging has also become more powerful, 100 watts.

The front cameras have a resolution of 12 MP. In Honor Magic4 Pro, the cutout in the screen is “double”, but the second eye is not a camera in the truest sense of the word, but a sensor that improves facial recognition.

There are three rear cameras (and eyes - in general, as many as five, the fourth and fifth are a ToF sensor and a flicker sensor, they are not considered cameras in Honor).

Camera sets, by the way, are close.50 + 50 + 8 MP for Honor Magic4 and 50 + 50 + 64 MP for the older model. Main camera, wide-angle camera, TV camera with periscope and optical stabilization. Apparently, the first two cameras are strictly identical. The main camera sensor seems to be our beloved Sony IMX766. What kind of sensor the second camera has is unclear.

Televisions are different. At the “proshka”, he, of course, is stronger. Honor promises 50X and 100X zooms respectively. But, of course, in this case we are talking about a not very honest digital zoom.

Other. Honor Magic4 Pro has full protection against water and dust according to IP68 class. Honor Magic4 has only IP54 splash protection - neither drop it into a puddle nor wash it under a tap.

5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 - it's all there, of course. Well, fingerprint scanners are built into the screen.

About money. There is no exact information yet. They promise that Honor Magic4 will start from €899 (₽92500, $1010), and Honor Magic4 Pro – from €1099 (₽113000, $1230).

According to Honor Magic4 Pro, there are a couple of “first glances”, I hide it under cat. (The second one, however, is in Italian...)
