Announcement. Honor 80 GT - flagship hardware and mid-range cameras

Honor announced today in China its new smartphone Honor 80 GT. Quite curious, but, alas, “not for us”. Let's get acquainted.

Chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, i.e. fully flagship, albeit not the most-most powerful. But in the winners.

Memory. 12 or 16 GB of RAM, always strictly 256 GB of permanent. A strange set of varieties ... It would be better if they made a couple more options with permanent memory.

AMOLED screen, diagonal 6.67″ (107 cm²), standard resolution 1080×2400 (395 ppi). The refresh rate is high, up to 120 Hz. As far as can be judged from the official renders, there are no strong roundings on the sides, i.e. the screen is more or less flat.

Medium capacity battery, 4800 mAh. Charging is fast - 66 W (they promise 47 minutes for a full charge from zero to one hundred percent).

Cameras.16 MP front, traditional set 54 + 8 + 2 MP rear (main, wide-angle, macro). Main camera sensor - Sony IMX800, i.e. large (1/1.49″). The one that is used in Xiaomi 13, as well as in Honor 70 (and in all its relatives). There is no optical stabilization.

Other.There is support for 5G networks, an NFC module, Type-C, an IR blaster, and a sixth Wi-Fi. The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen. There is no standard audio output. There is also no support for the LTE bands we need - neither the seventh nor the twentieth.

The Honor 80 GT will cost ¥3299 (₽32200, $469) and ¥3599 (₽35100, $511) at the start of sales for the 12+256 and 16+256 GB versions, respectively.
