Yesterday ASUS presented to the public a very curious smartphone called Zenfone 8.
The smartphone was presented to the court of a narrow publica little earlier, so at the time of the announcement, a couple of dozen reviews appeared on the network at the same time. Mainly in English, but one Russian-speaking one is also available. As usual, the complete collection is available on our website on the device page. Well, I hide a few reviews under the cat.

In short, the ASUS Zenfone 8 is a verya compact smartphone by modern standards. Moreover, it is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 class. If a set of cameras were more impressive, one could safely call it a full-fledged flagship. But without a telephoto camera - what kind of flagship are you?
The chipset is naturally the most powerful available onmarket, i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (about eight hundred thousand points in AnTuTu9). Apparently, we will have a lot of options with various amounts of memory. The RAM can be 6, 8, 12 or 16 GB. Permanent memory - 64, 128 or 256 GB. If 64 GB, then the memory is slower, UFS2.1. In other cases, UFS3.1 is promised. There is no memory card support.
The screen is fancy, but compact. Only 5.9 ″.AMOLED-matrix E4 from Samsung, support for HDR10 +, Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The resolution is high, 1080 × 2400 (446 ppi). The refresh rate is also rather big - up to 120 Hz. Work with gloves is supported.
Medium battery, 4000 mAh. Charging is fast, but not prohibitively fast - 30 watts. There is no wireless charging - it was sacrificed for the sake of small dimensions.
The front camera has a resolution of 12 MP.On the back there is a dual module - 64 + 12 MP, main camera and wide-angle. Nicely, all three cameras are equipped with autofocus. Supports 8K video recording at 24 fps.
The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen. NFC, of course, is. Wi-Fi is the most modern, i.e. 6e. There is a normal audio output, they promise high-quality and loud sound from external speakers.
At the start of sales in Europe, the smartphone will cost € 599 (₽53800, $ 727), € 669 (₽60100, $ 812) and € 799 (₽71800, $ 970) for versions 6 + 128, 8 + 128 and 16 + 256 GB, respectively.
"Early birds" (in Germany, in particular) have the opportunity to save money and buy the 8 + 128 GB version at the price of the younger, ie. for € 599 (₽53800, $ 727).
